Cross-disciplinary program & Professional integration program
Beside the Scientific Disciplinary Training (mini-courses) offered by the Doctoral School MSTII, there are two other field of training that you must fulfill.
During your doctoral studies you must justify of at least 40 hours of cross-disciplinary training. The Doctoral School provides ressources for that.
You must also justify of at least 40 hours of professional integration training.
In all cases, keep your ADUM profile up to date and submit your training validation requests on adum, especially when applying for equivalences as described above.
The Doctoral College offers training courses that enable PhD students to discover and experience access to specific business sectors and professions.
During your doctoral studies you must justify of at least 40 hours of cross-disciplinary training. The Doctoral School provides ressources for that.
- Follow a course on Ethics and Research Integrity (it is mandatory that you validate at least one such course !).
- Training/workshop on preventing gender-based discrimination. So far, only in French. Highly recommended if it is possible for you.
- Follow courses on topics different from your speciality (e.g. courses offered by other doctoral schools, like Physics, Humanities, Engineering, ...). Find them all here
- Follow a course form the Doctoral College catalog. A course on "French as a Foreign Language" can be counted in that category, and can be very helpful for your daily life !
- You may ask whether a mini-course from the disciplinary scientific program of the Doctoral School MSTII catalog can be counted as transversal if it provides a sufficient opening with respect to your speciality.
You must also justify of at least 40 hours of professional integration training.
- If you can teach then your teaching can validate at least part of this duty, with the rule that 3 hours of teaching validate 1 hour of training, and the requirement to follow a training for teaching at some point.
- Inquire about teaching possibilities (mostly in French) at our teaching departments : L'Ecole de Maths through Dietrich Hafner, L'Ecole de Maths-Appli through Eric Blayo, L'Ecole d'Informatique through Lydie du Bousquet.
- If your thesis is in collaboration with a company, then his can also validate at least part of this duty.
- Participation in professional development workshops, for example those organized by AMIES or other institutions.
- Having an international mobility experience during the PhD, either through a co-supervision agreement (cotutelle) or through a stay abroad of at least three months outside of any cotutelle arrangement.
- The Doctoral College proposes Career Development Programs that can validate this duty.
